Gay Pride events: It’s Time to Change the Name!
OK, this isn’t what I normally write about, but I had a discussion with another straight person who got totally hung up on the word ‘Pride’ in Gay Pride. The reason it trips people up is because they think, “Why should only gay people be proud? Aren’t I proud? I don’t parade around my pride. Why should gays have a monopoly on pride?” To which I answer… Every parade/holiday is about pride.
